Terms of
sale and use.

These terms cover your use of this website and your purchases from [registered business name], trading as Scents by Alice (“we”). By creating an account or placing an order you agree to them. They sit alongside our privacy policy, shipping and returns pages.

Orders and prices

Prices are in US dollars and include shipping within the United States. Sales tax is added at checkout where required. Your order is a request to buy; we accept it when we send your confirmation email. If a product is mispriced, out of stock or unavailable, we may cancel the order and refund you in full. Colours and scents are described as accurately as we can, but screens and noses differ.

Payment

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

Your account

You must give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it. We may suspend an account that is used for fraud or abuse.

Glow points

• Account holders earn 1 point for every $1 paid on an order, before tax, and 2 points per $1 on subscription deliveries. Points are added once an order is paid.
• 100 points can be redeemed for $3.00 off an order, in blocks of 100. A redemption cannot take off more than half of an order's value and cannot be applied to subscriptions.
• Points have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and are not earned on tax or on the value of points redeemed.
• If an order is refunded, the points earned on it are removed. If you used points on an order that is then refunded, contact us and we will review it and restore them where appropriate.
• We may change or end the points programme. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email and will honour points already earned during that time.
• We may remove points obtained through fraud, abuse or errors.

Subscriptions (automatic renewal)

• What you agree to: when you choose “Subscribe & save” you agree that we will charge your card the displayed price (a 10% discount on the regular price, plus tax where required) now, and again every month or every 2 months, whichever you chose, and ship a new delivery each time.
• It renews automatically until you cancel. The price you saw when you subscribed stays the same unless we tell you about a change in advance.
• How to cancel: sign in, open My account and choose “Manage, pause or cancel”. You can also email [contact email to be added]. Cancel before your next charge date to avoid being billed for the next delivery. You will not be charged again after you cancel, and a delivery you have already paid for will still be sent.
• You can pause, change your card, or skip in the same place. We will email you a confirmation when you subscribe or cancel.
• If a payment fails we will try again and may pause the subscription until it is fixed.
• Returns and damaged items for subscription deliveries follow our returns policy.

Candle safety

Candles are a fire risk. You must follow the warnings on the label and on our candle safety page. We are not responsible for harm caused by use that ignores those warnings.

Our products

Our candles are made for us by a supplier. We test the products before we sell them and choose them with care. We do not claim that our candles are handmade or made in the United States.

Intellectual property

The site, logo, text and images belong to us or our licensors. Please do not copy or reuse them without permission.

Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under law that cannot be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for products that are unsafe or not as described. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. The site is provided as available, and we do not guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Changes apply to orders placed after the date shown above. For subscriptions and the points programme, the notice rules above apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [state to be added], without affecting any consumer protections that apply where you live.
